This journal accepts scientific articles or research reports in general areas of psychology such as education, clinical, industrial and organizational, and religious social psychology. However, the main focus of this journal is the development of Islamic psychology so that this topic will dominate the articles in Al-Qalb : Jurnal Psikologi Islam

Publication Ethics

AL-QALB : Jurnal Psikologi Islam is a print and electronic journal based on peer review. All parties involved in the AL-QALB editorial process, including authors, editorial leaders, editorial boards, sustainable partners, and publishers, must adhere to the principles of publication ethics adopted from COPE's Best Practice for Journal Editors.

 

AL-QALB Publication Ethics General Guidelines

The process of publishing an article in AL-QALB, as a journal that adopts the peer-reviewed method, is a very essential process in developing a credible and reputable knowledge network. Every manuscript published is a direct reflection of the quality of the writer's work and the institutions which the authors are affiliated. Articles that undergo a peer review process must adopt scientific rigor. Therefore, it is imperative that all parties involved in the editorial process comply with an agreement regarding the ethical standards of publication, namely authors, editors, partners, and readers.

Rumah Jurnal UIN Imam Bonjol Padang as the publisher of AL-QALB: Jurnal Psikologi Islam  is obliged to oversee all publishing processes seriously. Publishers must adhere to the principles of publication ethics to ensure that sponsorship messages, printed revenues, including other commercial activities will not influence the editor's decision.

 

Responsibilities of Editor

 

Publication Decision

Editor is responsible for deciding between incoming articles, which ones will be published. This decision should be based on the validity and quality of the article if it can be useful to the reader. Editors can be guided by the policies of the editorial board and other legal products. For example, laws regarding copyright infringement and plagiarism. Editors can discuss with other editors to make decisions.

 

Fair Play

In evaluating submitted manuscripts, editors are required to consider the content and substance of the article only and may not make editorial decisions based on the author's race, gender, sexual orientation, religion and belief, ethnic origin, nationality, and / or political choice.

 

 

Confidentiality

Editors do not have to disclose any information about the manuscript submitted to anyone other than the author, including Mitra Bestari

 

Disclosure and Conflict of Interest

Unpublished material that accompanies the submitted manuscripts may not be used as a reference in the personal research of the editor.

 

Responsibilities of Mitra Bestari

Contribution to Editorial Decision Making

Mitra Bestari helps editors to make editorial decisions and determine what things need to be communicated to the author to improve the manuscript.

 

Punctuality

When Mitra Bestari feels that they are unable to review the article or when it is impossible for Mitra Bestari to complete the review on time, Mitra Bestari has to communicate it to the editor and declare to withdraw from the review process.

 

Confidentiality

All manuscripts reviewed must be treated as confidential documents. Manuscripts may not be discussed with other parties unless permitted by the editor.

 

Standard of Objectivity

Review of the manuscript must be carried out objectively. Personal criticism of the author (ad hominem) is not allowed. Mitra Bestari must express his view clearly and supported with the necessary evidence.

 

Reference Check

Mitra Bestari must identify other relevant references that have not been cited by the author. Any statement relating to previously reported observations, derivatives, or theoretical arguments must be accompanied by citations to other works that are referred to. If this happens, Mitra Bestari must remind the editor of the potential for substantial similarities in the manuscript or the potential for overlapping of the manuscript being reviewed with other previously published manuscripts.

 

Disclosure and Conflict of Interest

Information and ideas contained in the text under review should be kept confidential and not used for personal gain. Mitra Bestari should not review a manuscript in which he is involved in a competitive, collaborative, or other relationship with any of the authors, companies, or higher education institutions associated with the manuscript.

 

Responsibilities of author

Reporting Standards

All authors who submit their manuscripts to the AL-QALB: Jurnal Psikologi Islam editorial staff for review are obliged to describe their research findings accurately and discuss the aims of the research and their significance. Research data must be written accurately in the manuscript. The manuscript must include a detailed description that allows other researchers to replicate the research. The author is also strongly advised to make his research data available open to ensure transparency.

 

Data Access and Retention

The author is strongly advised to provide rough data from the research reported in the manuscript and must provide access to the data to the public (in accordance with the ALPSP-STM statement regarding data and databases). If the author is unable to do so, then the author must give reasonable reasons to the editor. Authors can take advantage of popular platforms such as OSF to pre-register studies and authors are strongly advised to provide datasets and study materials at OSF.

 

Multiple Publications

Authors are prohibited from entering or publishing the same manuscript in two or more different journals or other primary sources (proceedings, anthologies, etc.) Submitting the same manuscript to two or more of the same journals for review is unethical and will not tolerated. If this is done, the author will be blacklisted by AL-QALB for 2 consecutive years.

 

Mention of the work used as a reference

Authors are required to cite and include all references used to compile the manuscript.

 

Determination of Author Order

The names listed as the author of the script are limited to those who have a significant contribution in the formulation of basic ideas, research design, research implementation or the interpretation of research findings. Instead, all names who contributed to the process should be included as script writers. If there are other names who participated in some of the substantive aspects of the research, they can be acknowledged in acknowledgment. Correspondent authors must ensure that all people who contribute to the research are listed as authors, all authors have read and given their approval of the final version of the manuscript, and agree to the publication of the manuscript.

 

Disclosure and Conflict of Interest

All authors must state explicitly in their text if they have relationships with other parties that have the potential to cause them to become involved in a conflict of interest, which has the potential to influence the way they present and interpret research data. All sponsors, whether individuals or institutions, who finance the research must be named in the text.

 

Fatal Errors in Published Manuscripts

When writers find that there are fatal errors or inaccurate information in their published manuscripts, the authors have responsibility to immediately contact the editor-in-chief or publisher and are willing to cooperate with the editor when an article needs to be corrected or withdrawn.

 

 

Peer Review Process

Al-Qalb: Jurnal Psikologi Islam has a policy review as follows:

1. Manuscript will be checked using the plagiarism check web via www.turnitin.com
2. Manuscript will be reviewed by 2 reviewers.
3. The review process uses double blind peer review, reviewers do not know the author’s identity and vice versa
4. A reviewer consider the coherence between title, abstracts, contents, discussions, and conclusions.
6. Acceptance of the article by the Editor depends on the novelty of the research, the significance of the article, the correctness of the content, the level of originality, the clarity of the description, and the suitability of the journal's objectives.

 

Publication Frequency

Al-Qalb: Jurnal Psikologi Islam is published two times a year ( March and September and publishes 8 articles in each edition.
