TREN BRIDAL SHOWER DALAM PERSPEKTIF HADIS: Memahami Tradisi Pra-Pernikahan Dalam Islam

Abstract

Bridal showers, as one of the increasingly popular pre-wedding traditions nowadays, have become a highlight in society. This article examines the bridal shower trend in the context of Islamic wisdom, focusing on the perspective of hadith related to pre-wedding traditions. The study involves analyzing relevant hadith-reports to evaluate the practice of bridal showers, explaining their validity or invalidity from an Islamic point of view. The study covers aspects such as celebrations, social gatherings, and gifts given during the bridal shower. By integrating Islamic values and the teachings of the Prophet Muhammad in the understanding of bridal showers, this study provides a relevant view of the bridal shower trend. The study also explores the potential adaptation of the bridal shower trend to be in line with Islamic values especially in the Prophet's hadith and recommended social ethics. This article aims to provide insights on how the bridal shower trend can be harmonized with the values contained in the Prophet's teachings, given the importance of maintaining religious identity in daily life celebrations. Through this approach, it is hoped that an alternative can be found that is in accordance with the teachings of the Prophet in celebrating the moment before the wedding. The findings are that bridal showers provide benefits in establishing social relationships, friendship, solidarity between fellow friendship groups. The benefit contained in this celebration is the benefit of helping the bride-to-be by giving gifts needed, showing a sense of solidarity.
