Abstract


The purpose of Arabic teaching for hajj and umrah is not in accordance with employment needs. This study aims to provide a reference for developing an Arabic language teaching curriculum for hajj and umrah based on the Indonesian National Work Competency Standards (SKKNI) and the standards of guide for hajj and umrah the Ministry of Religion Indonesia as complements. Curriculum design refers to the needs of the employment, as a travel tour leader and guide for Hajj and Umrah pilgrimage. This study used a qualitative descriptive study with the research and development approach to design an Arabic language teaching curriculum for Hajj and Umrah based on SKKNI. Curriculum validation is carried out by Arabic teaching experts for specific purposes so that it becomes a better learning curriculum than before. The design of the Arabic teaching curriculum for hajj and Umrah consists of seven competencies from SKKNI and five competencies from hajj and Umrah guide the Ministry of Religion Indonesia, including objectives, materials, methods, media, and evaluation. The results of this study showed that the
Arabic teaching curriculum for Hajj and Umrah can be developed based on SKKNI and according to the needs of the employment.
