Abstract


The main problem in this study is "does the use of the TAI-type
cooperative learning model affect reading skills in eighth grade
students of Madrasah Tsanawiyah Negeri 3 Pariaman?". The study is so extensive, the authors limit the first to the ability of reading skills before using the TAI type cooperative learning model. the second is the use of the TAI type cooperative learning model in learning reading skills. the third is the influence of the TAI type cooperative learning model in learning reading skills. The purpose of this study is to describe the ability of reading skills before using the TAI type cooperative learning model, describe using the TAI type cooperative learning model, describe the TAI type cooperative learning model in improving reading skills in eighth grade students. The research method used is a quantitative research approach, namely quasi-mothod experiments and using SPSS analytical data. The results in this study were first, the ability before using the TAI type cooperative learning model before use TAI type cooperative learning model in control class is 64,84 and eksperimental class is 59,68. second is the using TAI type cooperative learning model in three steps. first is opening, second is mian activity its five steps observing, asking, trying, associating, and communicating, third is closing. third is the influence TAI type cooperative learning model in eksperimental class is 83,12 and control class is 80. and based on result of Paired Sample T test, T table -8,598 bigger than T count -17.878. and sig(2-Tailed) 0,005 bigger than 0,000. its mean TAI type cooperative learning model is influence to ability reading skills on student eight
graders of Madrasah Tsanawiyah Negeri 3 Pariaman.
