Students' Performance in Micro Teaching Class

Abstract


This research is motivated by demands that should have by the students in teaching practice at school during field practice experience (PPL). In fact, there are some indicators should be mastered by students before teaching at school. This study aims to describe students’ performance in micro teaching class. Sample of the research was all of English education department students in sixth semester of STKIP YDB Lubuk Alung 2022-2023 academic year who took Micro Teaching class. The instrument of the research was observation sheet of students’ performance assessment. The data was collected by using field study technique during micro teaching class. The finding of the research can be seen from the competencies opening the class 78.12% (good category), simulation 68.75% (good category, delivering the material 53.12% (fair category), using the media 71.87 (good category), performance 68.75 (good category), language use 59.37 (fair category), and making a conclusion 56.37 (fair category). Generally, students’ performance can be concluded that 87.5% students were categorized into good performance; 12.5% students were categorized into fair performance.
