Pembaharuan Kurikulum MTI Batang Kabung: Analisis Bahan Ajar

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to determine the curriculum renewal carried out by MTI Batang Kabung in terms of teaching materials, both general and Islamic education materials, then to determine the impact of the renewal of these teaching materials on graduates. This research is a qualitative field research using descriptive method. The primary data sources in this research are the leadership, the head of the Madrasah and the teacher assembly at MTI Batang Kabung. Then the secondary data sources are books that are relevant to the research. The data collection techniques used were interviews, observation and documentation studies. The data that has been collected is then processed by means of data reduction, data presentation and drawing conclusions. Along with the times, MTI Batang Kabung began to update the curriculum, especially in aspects of teaching materials, both general subjects and cottage subjects. Despite updating the aspects of teaching materials, MTI Batang Kabung still adheres to the Ahlusunnah Waljama'ah value system and belongs to the Shafi'i school of thought. Renewal began in 2004/2005. At that time MTI Batang Kabung implemented a competency-based curriculum (KBK) and in 2006/2007 MTI Batang Kabung implemented the Education Unit Level Curriculum (KTSP). With the change in the current education curriculum, PPMTI Batang Kabung also follows the government program, namely the 2013 curriculum, then prepares itself to adapt to the independent curriculum that was recently initiated by the government. MTI Batang Kabung can be said to be an Islamic boarding school that organizes a boarding school system and at the same time a school/madrasah system. Currently, in the field of Islamic boarding schools, more books are being taught than before, where previously only a few books were taught, that is, per field of knowledge only one book was taught. At present there are various scientific fields, the books taught are various and sustainable. The reforms carried out by MTI Batang Kabung on the curriculum, especially on teaching materials, have had several positive impacts on graduates, including students who are more proficient in general learning, students are able to compete in public tertiary institutions and students can apply for jobs in any field if they have graduated from MTI Batang Kabung.
