PENGAJARAN BAHASA INGGRIS MENGGUNAKAN AUTHENTIC MATERIALS PADA KELAS BAHASA

Abstract


This study aims to describe the effectiveness of the use of Authentic Materials in English classes in students of the Madrasah Ibtidaiyah Teacher Education program at the Islamic State University of Padang. The curriculum at the university level requires teachers to be able to provide teaching using material that is powerful and related to their daily lives and is easy to understand. The second goal is to create an atmosphere of effective and understandable reading learning in the reading section. In addition, this material can help students to learn thoroughly in understanding grammar and vocabulary easily besides that they can read and communicate in English with smoothly. Using Authentic Materials makes teaching and learning process more fun and effective because the topic is close to the daily life of students; namely based on local wisdom.
