Perpustakaan Masjid dan Khazanah Keislaman: Analisis Peran Masjid Raya Sheikh Zayed Solo sebagai Media Informasi dalam Penyebaran Nilai Moderasi Beragama

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the strategies for disseminating religious moderation values implemented by the Library of the Sheikh Zayed Mosque in Solo as a contemporary religious institution. The focus of the study is not only on collection management but also on the transformative role of the mosque library in responding to social issues through information and media management. This research employs a qualitative approach with a field research design. Data were collected through participant observation, in-depth interviews with two library managers, and documentation analysis. The findings reveal that the library plays a strategic role through two main mechanisms. First, locality-based literacy programs, including contextual studies of classical Islamic texts, multicultural discussions, and religious film analysis. These programs effectively strengthen values of tolerance, patriotism, and mental well-being. Second, the creation of inclusive discussion spaces such as interfaith youth forums and media literacy classes for women. This study contributes a conceptual model of a mosque library as a third space that integrates preservation functions with social activism. Practically, it offers strategies to strengthen the role of mosque libraries through community-based collection development, librarian capacity building, and multi-stakeholder collaboration. The findings are relevant to the implementation of religious moderation initiatives in Indonesia.
