Author Guidelines
Bengkel Kata: Journal of Islamic and Multidisciplinary Humanities is a biannual, peer-reviewed journal, focusing on Islamic Studies and multidisciplinary humanities. The journal aims to provide readers with a deeper understanding of Islamic thought, culture, education, law, economy, philosophy, and their interaction with broader humanities, presenting both original research and comprehensive studies through high-quality articles and research reports.
The journal invites scholars, researchers, and experts in all areas of Islamic Studies and Multidisciplinary Humanities. Submitted articles must be original, research-based, unpublished, and not under review elsewhere. All submissions undergo a double-blind peer review process managed by the Editor-in-Chief, Editorial Board, and selected reviewers. Manuscripts failing to comply with formatting, language, or scope requirements will be rejected without review.
General Guidelines
Articles must be original and unpublished.
Manuscripts should be written in English (United States) or Indonesian, using formal academic style.
File format must be Microsoft Word (.doc/.docx); Rich Text Format (RTF) is also acceptable. Other formats (PDF, LaTeX) are not accepted.
Manuscript length: 5,500–8,000 words (10–16 pages including references).
Authors are responsible for the accuracy of citations, grammar, tables, and figures prior to submission.
Authors must revise manuscripts according to the reviewers’ and editors’ recommendations.
Authors must register at the journal’s e-journal portal and complete the submission form before submitting their paper online.
All articles will be reviewed by the Editorial Board.
Manuscript Format
Title & Author Details
Title: Garamond 16 pt, bold, uppercase, centered, maximum 12 words.
Authors: Names only, without academic degrees. Example: Nama Penulis 1, Nama Penulis 2, Nama Penulis 3.
Affiliations: Institution name and country. The corresponding author is indicated with *, and email must be provided.
Editorial Dates: Accepted, Approved, Published – filled by the editor.
Abstract & Keywords
Abstract: Written in English and Indonesian, Garamond 12 pt, single-spaced, right-aligned, containing:
Background (research context & gap)
Research objectives (aligned with research questions)
Methods
Results (general description)
Practical and theoretical implications
Word count: 150–200 words.
Keywords: 3–5 words, relevant to the study, separated by semicolons (English) or commas (Indonesian).
Structure of the Article (IMRaD)
Introduction
Present main research topic.
Include recent literature (last 10 years).
Identify gaps or inconsistencies.
State the research problem, objectives, context, and unit of analysis.
Provide an overview of article structure.
Heading: Garamond 12 bold, uppercase; body: Garamond 12 normal, justified. No bullets/numbering.
Method
Describe procedures in detail to ensure reliability and validity.
Include research design, population & sample, data collection techniques, instrument development, and analysis methods.
For qualitative research, specify researcher involvement, informants, data validation, location, duration, and data exploration procedures.
Results
Present findings concisely with sufficient detail to support conclusions.
Use tables and figures to enhance clarity (minimum one each).
Tables: Header Garamond 12, content Garamond 10, horizontal lines only at top and bottom, source at bottom left.
Figures: Caption below, Garamond 11, centered, source cited if external.
Discussion
Interpret results according to theoretical framework.
Relate findings to previous research (international & national journals, Scopus/Sinta-indexed).
Identify contributions, modifications, or new theories.

All references must appear in the text and reference list; all in-text citations must correspond to the bibliography.
Use APA 7th Edition style; alphabetical order.

Submission Preparation Checklist
As part of the submission process, authors are required to check off their submission's compliance with all of the following items, and submissions may be returned to authors that do not adhere to these guidelines.
- Naskah ini belum pernah diterbitkan sebelumnya, dan juga tidak sedang dalam pertimbangan jurnal lain (atau penjelasan telah diberikan dalam Komentar kepada Editor).
- Berkas pengajuan berupa file dokumen OpenOffice, Microsoft Word, RTF, atau WordPerfect.
- Jika tersedia, URL untuk referensi telah disertakan.
- Teks diketik dengan spasi tunggal; menggunakan font 12 poin; menggunakan huruf miring, bukan garis bawah (kecuali untuk alamat URL); dan semua ilustrasi, gambar, dan tabel ditempatkan di dalam teks pada titik yang sesuai, bukan di akhir.
- Teks ini mematuhi persyaratan gaya dan bibliografi yang diuraikan dalam Pedoman Penulis , yang dapat ditemukan di bagian Tentang Jurnal.
- Jika mengirimkan naskah ke bagian jurnal yang ditinjau oleh rekan sejawat, petunjuk dalam Memastikan Peninjauan Buta telah diikuti.
