Abstract


The purpose of this research addresses the linguistic complexity of Arabic as a second language (L2) and its impact on enhancing cognitive functions. The main focus is how Arabic, which is rich in morphology and semantiks, is able to strengthen cognitive functions, especially in a bilingual context. The study of Arabic linguistics in this research will focus on 3 aspects namely morphology (Sharaf), semantiks (ma'ajim), and phonology (ilmu al-ashwat) which are compared with the linguistics of other languages. This research uses a qualitative approach with a literature study method. The data collection technique is through scientific documents. Data analysis is done by reading, analyzing, marking, and drawing conclusions. The results show that Arabic linguistics has a complex discussion in morphology, semantiks, and phonology. The impact of mastering Arabic as a second language is to increase the intelligence quotient (IQ) obtained from the balance of right brain and left brain activities.
