Abstract


This study explores the relationship between language and politics in the Arab context through the lens of psycholinguistics. It aims to uncover how political language is strategically used to influence public perception and emotion. Using a qualitative, library-based approach, the research analyzes Arabic political speeches and relevant academic sources. The findings reveal that Arabic political language serves profound psychological functions: it employs words, metaphors, and rhetorical symbols to construct collective cognition and shape social and political attitudes. Furthermore, the study identifies several key strategies, lexical repetition, semantic and rhetorical manipulation, conceptual metaphor, emotional appeal (pathos and ethos), and in-group vs out-group framing, that enhance the persuasive and emotional power of political discourse. The study concludes that Arabic political language operates as both a psychological and ideological tool, shaping public opinion and consolidating symbolic political authority.
