Development of a Fuzzy Logic Model for Landslide Vulnerability Classification in Majalengka Regency

Abstract

In this paper, we developed a fuzzy logic model to classify a landslide vulnerability level in Majalengka Regency. The input variables of this research are altitude, land slope, soil type, population density, and rainfall. Input data for the first five variables were obtained from BPS Majalengka. Meanwhile, rainfall data was obtained from MERRA-2. We used MATLAB to classify the landslide vulnerability level as the research output. Then, we applied the model to analyze the landslide vulnerability level in the period 2020-2021. Based on the results, it is found that there are even sub-districts potentially vulnerable to landslides, namely, Argapura, Banjaran, Lemahsugih, Bantarujeg, Maja, Malausma, and Sindang. Finally, we conclude that the results obtained from our model are in accordance with the actual landslide. The results of this study can be used by a local government to map landslide-vulnerable areas as a landslide mitigation strategy in the future.
