Monitoring Suhu dan Ketinggian Air pada Sistem Akuaponik Berbasis Internet of Things
Abstract
Aquaponics is an agricultural system that combines aquaculture and hydroponics in a mutually beneficial ecosystem, where temperature and water level play an important role that must be controlled in this cultivation. Where a good and maintained temperature for cultivation ranges between 25-29°C. This research implements a temperature and water level monitoring system in an Internet of Things (IoT) based aquaponics system using an ESP8266 microcontroller, an ultrasonic sensor for water level, and a DS18B20 sensor for reading temperature. The data read will be sent in real-time to the IoT platform and displayed via websites.The results of this research show that the monitoring system created can provide accurate information, thereby helping aquaponic farmers in maintaining optimal conditions for the growth of fish and plants. The fish used in this study were tilapia, and the plants were water spinach. Fish waste is a source of nutrients for plants, and decomposed leftover feed is beneficial for plant protein synthesis, similar to aquaponic systems.It is hoped that this implementation can support the development of sustainable aquaponic agriculture.
