Development of student-worksheets based on Discovery-Learning Oriented to Improving Experimentation Skills with a Design-Thinking Framework

Abstract


The research aims to develop Student Worksheets (LKPD) based on Discovery Learning oriented towards improving students' experimentation skills using the Design Thinking thinking framework. This research method uses design and development (Design and Development, D&D) with a Design Thinking framework which involves five stages, namely empathize, define, ideate, prototyping, and evaluating. Participants in this research involved 6 validators consisting of 2 lecturers and 4 junior high school teachers in West Java. The object of the research carried out was the validity and feasibility of the LKPD, while the instrument used was a validation sheet. The validation results show that the LKPD developed has a high content validity index (CVI) in various aspects. Aspects of conformity with indicators of inquiry skills, suitability of concept, grammar, layout and appearance, and experimentation skills respectively obtained a CVI score of 0.69; 0.51; 0.14; 0.38; and 0.67 which are all included in the very valid category. Thus, it can be concluded that the Discovery Learning-based LKPD developed is effective for use in improving students' experimentation skills.
