Abstract

Cases of violence in Indonesian educational institutions have shown an increasing trend, with more than 370 bullying reports received by the Indonesian Child Protection Commission (KPAI) throughout 2025, representing an 18% increase compared to the previous year. Bullying occurs most frequently at the junior and senior high school levels, peaking during the new student transition period (September–November). This community service activity aimed to provide education on the prevention and management of violence in educational institutions, referring to the Regulation of the Minister of Education, Culture, Research, and Technology (Permendikbudristek) Number 46 of 2023 concerning the Prevention and Management of Violence in Educational Institutions (PPKSP), targeting students of SMA Islam Kebumen. The implementation method consisted of interactive socialization covering bullying data and facts, the six forms of violence as defined by Permendikbudristek 46/2023, and the Listen–Support–Report handling strategy, complemented by a pretest and posttest to measure students' knowledge gains. Pretest results from 97 students indicated a positive baseline attitude toward anti-violence values (mean score 33.86 out of 40, or 84.6%), although students' actual sense of safety within the school environment was relatively lower compared to other attitude indicators. In terms of knowledge, a significant improvement was observed from pretest to posttest (mean score increased from 8.02 to 9.46 on a 0–10 scale; paired t-test, p < 0.001), with an average N-gain of 0.80 (high category). The most significant misconception successfully corrected was the belief that violence can only be perpetrated by fellow students (correct responses increased from 61.9% to 91.8%). These findings demonstrate that structured PPKSP education effectively enhances students' understanding
