PERSEPSI GURU TENTANG KEPEMIMPINAN KEPALA SEKOLAH DI SMA NEGERI 1 GUNUNG TALANG

Abstract

This research aims to analyze teachers' perceptions of the principal's leadership in the context of school management. The leadership of the principal plays a strategic role in determining the success of the educational process through effective and efficient management. The respondents in this study are 73 teachers at SMA Negeri 1 Gunung Talang, specifically selected through total sampling technique. The type of this research is descriptive research using a quantitative approach, data collection was conducted through the distribution of questionnaires, and then the questionnaire data results were tested using validity and reliability tests and subsequently analyzed using SPSS version 22. The research results show that: (1). The education of school principals has an average respondent independence score of 78.90% with a high category, (2). The experience of the Principal shows that the average independence of the respondents is 78.45% with a high category, (3). Looking at the Situation Inside and Outside the School, it appears that the average independence of the respondents is 76.44% with a high category, (4). The Problems That Often Occur show that the average independence of the respondents is 80.73% with a high category, (5). Decision Making shows that the average independence of respondents is 78.08% with
a high category, (6). Decision-Making Strategy shows that the average independence of respondents is 75.71% with a high category, (7). The Reason for Making a Decision shows that the average independence of the respondents is 76.71% with a high category. Based on the average percentage result of the seventh indicator, which is 77.86%, it can be concluded that the decision-making ability of the principal of SMAN
1 Gunung Talang, based on teachers' perceptions, can be considered good. (8). Drive appears to show that the average independence of respondents is 78.17% with a high category, (9), Work Enthusiasm appears to show that the average independence of respondents is 80.55% with a high category, (10). The Drive to Achieve Goals shows that the average independence of respondents is 76.62% with a high category, (11). Achievement shows that the average independence of respondents is 75.98% with a high category, (12). Recognition shows that the average independence of respondents is 74.70% with a high category, and (13). Responsibility shows that the average independence of the respondents is 74.98% with a high category. Based on the average percentage of the sixth indicator, which is 65.93%, the communication skills of the principal of SMAN 1 Gunung Talang can be considered good. The leadership
of the principal greatly influences teachers' perceptions of the quality of education at SMAN 1 Gunung Talang, and plays an important role in creating a conducive atmosphere for the professional development of teachers and the overall success of education.
