STRATEGI PENGEMBANGAN PROFESIONALISME TENAGA PENDIDIK DAN TENAGA KEPENDIDIKAN DI MTsN 9 AGAM

Abstract

This research is based on field observations, where the researcher found that there are visible efforts or strategies to develop the professionalism of teaching staff. However, on the other hand, there appear to be no significant efforts or strategies directed at developing the professionalism of educational staff. In fact, both teaching and educational staff should have equal rights to professional development. The research method used was a qualitative approach with a case study design. The research informants consisted of the principal, teaching staff, and educational staff. Data were collected through observation, interviews, and documentation. The data analysis techniques employed in this study were data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion drawing. The results of the research show that strategies for developing the professionalism of teaching staff at MTsN 9 Agam are carried out through various activities such as seminars, Teacher Subject Deliberation (MGMP), workshops, academic supervision, and regular training. These activities aim to improve teachers’ knowledge, understanding, and skills, thereby fostering higher professionalism. Meanwhile, strategies to develop the professionalism of educational staff in the fields of services, office administration, and ICT have been implemented. However, in the areas of services and administration, the implementation has not been optimal because it is not carried out regularly and does not fully align with the needs of educational staff. In contrast, ICT-related programs have been conducted regularly, which has enhanced staff understanding of technology.
