Focus and Scope

<FOCUS

RiELT Joural focuses on the exploration of research-based and innovative practices that enhance the teaching and learning of English as a second or foreign language. It provides a forum for integrating perspectives from applied lingistics, educational linguistics, literary studies to strengthen pedagogical theory, classrom practice and policy in ELT.

SCOPE

1. English Language Teaching and Learning: (a) innovation pedagogies and technology enhanced language learning, (b) Curriculum design, syllabus develpment, and materials adaptation in ELT, (c) Language skills teaching (listening, speaking, reading, writing) and integrated skills instruction; (d) assessment, feedback, and learner autonomy in ELT contexts, and (e) Teacher education, reflective practice, and professional development.

2. Linguistics for ELT: (a) Application of linguistic theories (phonology, morphology, syntax, semantics, pragmatics, discourse analysis) to ELT; (b) Grammar teaching from linguistic perspectives; (c) Corpus-based approaches and data driven learning for ELT material develpment; (d) Sociolinguistic and psycholinguistics insights for improving classroom instruction; (e) Role and Reference Grammar (RRG) and other functional linguistic frameworks in teaching grammar and meaning

3. Educational Linguistics: (a) Language policy, planning, and ideology in English Language Teaching; (b) Multilingualism, translaguaging, and intercultural communication in the classroom; (c) Critical language awareness, eco-lingistics, and sustainability in language education; (d) Equity, Inclusion, and social justice in ELT; and (e) Language learning motivation, identity, and learner agency

4. Literature for ELT: (a) The use of lierary texts, poetry, drama, and fiction in English Language Classroom; (b) Literature-based approaches to develping linguistic and cultural competence; (c) Stylistic and discourse approaches to teaching literature in ELT; and (d) Creative writing, storytelling, and performance as pedagogial tools.

Open Access Policy

This journal provides immediate open access to its content on the principle that making research freely available to the public supports a greater global exchange of knowledge.

 

Archiving

This journal utilizes the LOCKSS system to create a distributed archiving system among participating libraries and permits those libraries to create permanent archives of the journal for purposes of preservation and restoration. More...
