Postponement of Debt Payment in the Review of Islamic Fiqh

Abstract

Abstrak
This research aims to deal with the issue of debt and procrastination in paying it and the consequent penalties mentioned by Alef. The deductive, inductive approach was followed, and this research reached several results, the most important of which is that the debt is the fixed money owed by any of the reasons for proving the debt. Religion; Because of the seriousness of the debt, good intentions facilitate debt repayment and payment, unlike bad choices. Procrastination: Delaying payment when the right is due with his ability to pay, and the jurists agreed that the procrastination of the rich is unjust and forbidden, but some of them considered it a major sin, and the procrastination of the non-rich is neither unfair nor forbidden. If the debtor has apparent money, it will be sold to pay off his debts, even if he is compelled to do so, considering the creditor's right. If the debtor does not have apparent money, it is sold to him to pay off his debts, withholding a penalty for him until his money appears or he reaches it even by beating.
